Construction & Maintenance Decarbonisation Lead

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Construction and Maintenance Decarbonisation Lead to join our Environmental Sustainability Division within Safety, Engineering and Standards (SES). As the Team Lead, you will work across the company, developing and implementing decarbonisation standards, and best practices. You will provide specialist decarbonisation technical advice and guidance, acting as the focal point to ensure alignment between development, renewal and maintenance of National Highways assets, ensuring planning for long term improvements and alignment with Environmental and Sustainability Strategies.

Please note this role can be based from any of our UK offices; however, travel to regional offices to attend team meetings may be required.

• Be the subject matter expertise on carbon, including PAS
  2080, decarbonisation pathways (materials, plant, construction practices) and innovation. Developing technical solutions working with specialists across the company and supply chain to ensure sustainable, low carbon asset standards, specifications, processes and implementation.
• Lead technical assurance of carbon submissions and data, ensuring National Highways are establishing, implementing and delivering actions to achieve the construction and maintenance of the RIS3 performance metric.
