The role is focused on establishing standards, assuring compliance, managing technical risk, and supporting high-risk or complex electrical activities. Operational teams remain accountable for the planning, supervision, and delivery of works, whilst Technical Assurance provides assurance, guidance, advice and escalation where required.

• Develop and deliver technical bulletins, standards, toolbox talks, and training materials to communicate legislative changes, industry developments, lessons learned, and emerging risks.
• Monitor compliance performance, analyse audit findings, identify emerging trends, and support continual improvement initiatives to strengthen electrical safety and compliance across BAM FM
• Provide technical input to contract mobilisations, project activities, and tender reviews where specialist electrical expertise is required, ensuring that compliance, and risk considerations are appropriately addressed.
• Identify, investigate, and escalate significant technical and H&S risks, recurring compliance failures and business-critical concerns through the appropriate channels to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Support external audits and accreditation bodies, including NICEIC, BSI, and client-led audits, providing technical expertise and assurance evidence where required.
• Share best practices, lessons learned, and technical knowledge to promote consistency, continuous improvement, and technical excellence throughout BAM FM
• Work collaboratively with the wider Technical Assurance team to ensure a consistent national approach to technical assurance, Authorised Person assessments, auditing, standards, and compliance.
• Provide technical advice support to managers and engineers on all electrical matters including incident investigations, major technical failures, and significant risk events.
