* Career development within an engineering-led environment.## Introduction This is an exciting opportunity for an Estimating Engineer to join an established manufacturing business. You will be responsible for preparing accurate, technically robust, and commercially competitive quotations. This role involves reviewing customer enquiries and supporting profitable business growth.## Responsibilities
* Manage enquiries from initial receipt through to quotation submission.
* Review drawings, CAD models, and specifications to assess manufacturing requirements.
* Prepare accurate quotations covering materials, tooling, processes, finishing, and inspection.
* Issue RFQs to subcontract suppliers and incorporate returned costs into quotations.
* Maintain supplier pricing, estimating information, and customer data within the ERP system.
* Support new product introduction through cost estimates, BOMs, and manufacturing routings.
* Review manufacturability and identify potential cost-saving or process improvement opportunities.
* Work with sales and operational teams to clarify technical and commercial requirements.## Requirements
* Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Ability to understand engineering drawings, symbols, and technical documentation.
* Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
* Organised, accurate, and commercially aware approach.
* Good communication skills and willingness to work across multiple departments.
* Strong willingness to learn about manufacturing processes and estimating systems.
* Experience in engineering costing or technical estimating would be advantageous.
* Knowledge of investment casting, forging, MIM or related manufacturing processes would be beneficial.##
