Highway Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area on an initial 6 month contract basis.

The main duties of the experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer are:

Manage and support highway maintenance programmes.
Inspect and assess carriageways, footways, drainage and other highway assets.
Investigate highway defects and identify appropriate remedial works.
Prepare technical specifications, reports, estimates and schedules.
Monitor contractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to specification.
Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
Provide technical advice on highway maintenance and safety.
Manage customer and stakeholder enquiries.
Support contract administration and budget monitoring.
Ensure works comply with relevant legislation, standards and procedures.

The experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer will have:

Experience in highway maintenance or highway engineering.
HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering or a related discipline.
Good knowledge of highway maintenance standards and legislation.
Experience inspecting highways and managing defects.
Experience working with contractors and delivering maintenance schemes.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
