Senior Flood Risk Consultant - Manchester

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 depending on experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Flood Risk Consultant to join a growing flood risk and water environment team in Manchester. The role would suit an experienced flood risk professional looking to take greater responsibility for technical delivery, project management and client relationships.

The Role

Preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments for residential, commercial and infrastructure developments.
Delivering flood risk assessments covering fluvial, surface water, groundwater and other sources of flooding.
Developing drainage strategies and SuDS solutions in line with current UK guidance and planning requirements.
Undertaking hydrological and hydraulic assessments and interpreting flood mapping and modelling outputs.
Working with the Environment Agency, LLFAs, planners and other stakeholders.
Providing technical input into planning applications and development proposals.
Managing projects from inception through to completion, including budgets, programmes and client communication.
Reviewing technical reports and supporting the development of junior consultants.
Contributing to proposals, tenders and business development opportunities.
Supporting wider flood risk management, drainage and water environment projects.

Current Manchester opportunities show strong demand for senior-level flood risk professionals with experience across FRAs, drainage strategies, SuDS, hydraulic modelling and technical project delivery.

About You

Degree qualified in Geography, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
6+ years' experience within flood risk, hydrology or drainage consultancy.
Strong experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies
Strong GIS skills, ideally including ArcGIS or QGIS.
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
