Our client is a dynamic and commercially focused planning consultancy delivering expert planning advice across regeneration, commercial, mixed-use and strategic development projects. They work with developers, investors, landowners, local authorities and private sector clients to unlock opportunities, create value and deliver transformative developments.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner with a passion for regeneration and commercial development to join their growing team.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of town centre regeneration, employment, retail, leisure, logistics, office, mixed-use and strategic development projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping places, supporting economic growth and delivering commercially successful planning outcomes.

Depending on experience, the role can be appointed at Town Planner or Senior Town Planner level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit and manage planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries for regeneration and commercial schemes.
  • Advise clients on development potential, planning strategy, risks and opportunities.
  • Undertake site appraisals, feasibility studies and planning due diligence for commercial and brownfield sites.
  • Prepare planning statements, sequential/impact assessments (where relevant), appeal statements and supporting reports.
  • Lead or support planning strategies for town centre, urban regeneration and mixed-use redevelopment projects.
  • Liaise with local planning authorities, consultants, architects, surveyors and key stakeholders.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and consultation processes on complex regeneration proposals.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and client expectations effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Mentor junior colleagues and provide project leadership (Senior level).
  • Keep abreast of planning policy changes affecting regeneration, commercial and employment development.

About You

  • Excellent understanding of development management, plan-making and UK planning policy.
  • Experience leading client relationships and managing complex planning applications.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to unlock development opportunities.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to business growth.
