We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineering Manager to take overall responsibility for the engineering function at a busy FMCG manufacturing site.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for leading and developing the engineering team, delivering the planned maintenance strategy, improving site reliability and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop the site engineering team.
  • Deliver the planned preventative maintenance programme and improve engineering KPIs.
  • Reduce production downtime through effective maintenance and rapid breakdown response.
  • Manage engineering budgets, contractors, projects and site maintenance activity.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and legal requirements.
  • Identify and deliver engineering, automation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work closely with Operations, Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Ensure appropriate engineering spares, tools and facilities are maintained.
  • Provide effective engineering leadership during breakdowns and operational emergencies.
About You

You will be an experienced engineering leader with a background in FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar high-volume manufacturing environment
.

  • HND/Degree or equivalent Engineering qualification.
  • Proven experience managing and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong maintenance and project engineering experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and contractors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of manufacturing performance.
  • Knowledge of TPM, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar methodologies would be advantageous.
