Our client, a leader in the water sector, is currently seeking a Senior Civil Site Engineer to join their team. This permanent role is part of a dynamic Construction and Project delivery team handling large-scale water infrastructure projects
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the full site engineering function, including setting out, dimensional control, verification, and survey activities.
- Manage engineering teams to ensure accurate execution of works.
- Validate primary control and resolve discrepancies in design information and site conditions.
- Oversee installation activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, tolerances, and standards.
- Maintain and manage survey/setting-out equipment, including calibration and testing regimes.
- Produce technical sketches, calculations, and engineering records to support construction activities.
- Ensure drawing registers and technical documentation are controlled and up-to-date.
- Lead the production of accurate as-built surveys, red-line drawings, and handover documentation.
- Conduct quality inspections, close out NCRs, and promote a “right-first-time” approach.
- Support Technical Assurance reviews, ensuring design compliance and correct installation.
- Prepare, brief, and implement Safe Systems of Work, including RAMS and Permits to Work.
- Act as or support the Temporary Works Coordinator, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Track progress through measurement, quantity reporting, and verification of installed works.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Designers, Supply Chain, Supervisors, and Ensure digitally captured as-built information supports handover and asset information requirements.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Accreditation (e.g. ICE) or working towards.
- Experience leading engineering delivery on civil engineering projects.
- Experience across earthworks, drainage, structures, highways, utilities or water infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of CDM, construction safety legislation, and engineering control principles.
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely.
- CSCS
- Full UK driving licence.
- Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or working towards.
Salary: £65000 – £70000/annum
