From day one, you'll benefit from a personalised on-the-job training plan tailored to the High Voltage Distribution department. This approach will not only allow you to apply your technical knowledge in real-world settings but also provide ongoing support from experienced professionals.

You’ll actively contribute to a variety of projects, gaining invaluable experience every step of the way. We are also committed to enhancing your essential soft skills, ensuring you develop a well-rounded skill set that complements your technical abilities with effective communication, collaboration, and leadership.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting the production of designs, calculations, reports, specifications, schedules, and drawings for new and modified HV distribution projects up to 33kV.
  • Assisting with single line diagrams, cable sizing, voltage drop, fault level checks, protection coordination, earthing, load assessments, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Gaining exposure to 11kV and 33kV substations, switch gear, transformers, cabling, protection and control, SCADA interfaces, and distribution network infrastructure.
  • Contributing to health and safety reviews and hazard identification in accordance with the CDM Regulations, with a focus on buildability, maintainability, sustainability, and environmental compliance.

  • 2:1 in a relevant engineering degree, such as Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Power Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • An interest in 11kV and 33kV distribution networks, substations, cables, switch gear, protection systems, earthing, grid connections, renewables, or network resilience.
  • A willingness to collaborate with engineers, clients, contractors, suppliers, and wider project teams in both office and site-based environments.
