Could you help shape the future of Buro Happold’s international air quality services?

We are looking for an experienced air quality professional to play a key role in the continued growth of our international consultancy offering. Based from one of our UK offices with flexible hybrid working, you will join a globally connected team delivering innovative air quality solutions for some of the world's most ambitious development projects.

Working alongside our Global Air Quality Lead, you will support the expansion of our services across the Middle East, Africa and other emerging markets. The role offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across a diverse portfolio of international master planning, infrastructure and environmental assessment projects, helping clients deliver healthier, more sustainable places at a range of scales.

This Role Will Encompass:
  • Experience delivering air quality inputs to major development, infrastructure or master planning projects, ideally in international markets.
  • Experience supporting environmental assessments including ESIA, SEA or equivalent processes.
  • Strong technical capability in atmospheric dispersion modelling using ADMS or AERMOD. And associate visualisation tools including QGIS.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly to clients and project teams.
  • Experience working directly with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Knowledge of international air quality legislation, policy and best practice.
  • Experience managing project delivery, programmes and budgets.
  • A proactive approach to mentoring and developing junior staff.
  • A collaborative mindset with an interest in business development and work winning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A degree in a relevant discipline and professional membership (or progress towards membership) of IAQM or an equivalent professional body.
Desirable
  • Experience of IFC, EBRD or other lender standards.
  • Experience in indoor air quality, LEED, WELL or Envision.
  • Experience of odour, dust or ecological assessments.
  • Experience contributing to regional plans, policies or frameworks.
