Our Aviation Infrastructure team is based in our AECOM Basingstoke Croydon Manchester Birmingham and London offices and are passionate about creating innovative resilient and sustainable solutions for airports of all sizes - including major commercial hubs and greenfield airports to general aviation airfields and military installations.

We welcome applications from experienced civil engineers who are looking to build a career in aviation. If youre keen to apply your engineering skills to a new and exciting sector well provide the support mentoring and development needed to help you succeed. Were particularly interested in engineers with a strong civils design background gained within aviation highways rail roads or other major infrastructure environments.

No aviation experience No problem.

You dont need previous aviation experience to apply. Were looking for civil engineers with strong engineering fundamentals a collaborative mindset and a desire to learn. If youve worked on highways transportation public realm rail or other infrastructure projects your experience is highly transferable and well help you develop the specialist knowledge required to design runways instead of roads.

Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. The team provides technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle from master planning feasibility preliminary and detailed stage designs and construction and handover. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector and include airport investors airport operators and major contractors.

Heres what youll do:

• Design: Contribute to the design of airport infrastructure including runways taxiways aprons service roads drainage utilities and airfield systems. Youll work alongside experienced aviation engineers who will support your development in airport-specific design.

• Produce: Engineering calculations reports drawings and technical specifications throughout the project lifecycle.

• Investigate: Support site inspections and asset condition surveys helping clients make informed investment decisions.

• Organise: Take ownership of assigned tasks collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

• Has a degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
• Has experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (aviation experience is welcome but not essential).
• Has an interest in developing a career in aviation infrastructure.
• Enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of DMRB or highway civil engineering design
