Looking for a graduate role where you can help shape resilient places and tackle real-world flood risk challenges?

Purpose & Scope of the Role

Join Tetra Tech's flood risk and drainage teams and support a wide range of technical work, including flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling, hydrology assessment, drainage design and SuDS. You'll work across public and private sector infrastructure projects, from Flood Risk Assessments for developments of 10 homes to 5,000, through to local authority flood risk schemes and private sector site resilience challenges.

Projects range from £1m to £100m across defence, transport, local government, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Your Impact in this position

Working proactively and independently, you'll support projects from inception to close out - from understanding client briefs and developing technical solutions, through delivery and completion. You'll be backed by senior colleagues, while building confidence in project work and contributing to outcomes that reduce flood risk and support climate resilience.

5 Core Capabilities
  • Flood Risk & Drainage Design - Contribute to practical flood risk solutions, drainage design and SuDS across varied development and infrastructure projects.
  • Hydraulic Modelling & Hydrology - Develop your skills in modelling rivers, coasts and surface water catchments to inform robust technical decisions.
  • Project Delivery - Support projects from early brief development through to delivery and close out, working to best practice standards.
  • Client & Stakeholder Support - Work effectively with clients, colleagues and wider stakeholders on challenging technical work.
  • Professional Practice - Apply good health and safety practice, demonstrate strong communication and deliver work on time.
Training, Qualifications and Experience

Degree level or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or Geography - BSc, BEng, MSc or MEng, with first or upper second class honours. You'll be enthusiastic, career-focused and interested in flood risk management, hydraulic modelling, catchment hydrology, natural flood risk management and environmental enhancement. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, flexibility and a full UK driving licence are desirable. Suitability for Security Clearance to minimum SC level is essential.
