We're looking for a motivated professional to join the team, delivering high-quality pre-commissioning water treatment and flushing services across a range of exciting projects, including data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, commercial buildings, healthcare, and industrial developments
.
As a Pre-Commissioning Water Treatment / Flushing Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring HVAC and water systems are cleaned, treated, tested, and fully prepared for commissioning in line with BSRIA BG29 & BG50 standards.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out pre-commission cleaning, chemical dosing, static and dynamic flushing of HVAC and water systems.
- Flush and treat closed and open loop systems, including CHW, LTHW, condenser, and domestic hot & cold water systems.
- Perform on-site water quality testing, including pH, conductivity, iron, hardness, and bacterial sampling.
- Interpret test results and adjust chemical treatment as required.
- Produce accurate documentation, including flushing certificates, water treatment reports, and compliance records.
- Operate flushing pumps, dosing rigs, side-stream filters, and associated equipment.
- Work closely with mechanical and commissioning teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with HSE requirements and COSHH regulations.
- Attend client and site meetings, providing technical support where required.
- Minimum 1 year experience in water treatment, pre-commission cleaning, or mechanical flushing.
- Strong knowledge of BSRIA BG29 & BG50 guidelines.
- Experience working with HVAC systems, pipework, valves, strainers, and water treatment chemicals.
- Competent in water quality testing and the use of testing equipment.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
- Closed loop water treatment, domestic water systems, cooling towers, or cleanroom water systems.
- Confined Space, MEWP, or other relevant site certifications.
- Experience supervising junior engineers or subcontractors.
