Building Services Design Engineer

45, + Package We’re recruiting a Building Services Design Engineer for a growing specialist HVAC and mechanical contractor based in Manchester.

This is a hands-on design role supporting commercial air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical projects from initial concept through to detailed design and project delivery.

The Role Produce mechanical and HVAC designs for commercial projects

Carry out heat loss / heat gain calculations

Size and select air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical plant

Produce drawings, schematics and technical specifications

Coordinate designs with project managers, estimators and site teams

Review consultant drawings and client requirements

Support technical submissions and equipment selections

Assist with value engineering and design optimisation

Attend design meetings and site surveys where required

Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and regulations

The Candidate Experience in Building Services, Mechanical or HVAC Design Strong understanding of:

Air conditioningVRF / VRVVentilation

Mechanical building services

Confident producing technical drawings and calculations

Experience with AutoCAD and ideally Revit Good understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Mechanical or Building Services qualification preferred Package

The Opportunity This is a strong opportunity for a Building Services Design Engineer who wants to work closely with both pre-construction and delivery teams, rather than being isolated in a purely consultancy environment.

Long-term progression into Senior Design Engineer, Design Manager or Technical Manager.
