I’m currently working with an established business within the power generation and energy sector who are looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a strong engineering and power generation background to take responsibility for the successful delivery of major energy projects across the UK.
The role will involve managing projects from a commercial, technical and operational perspective, with responsibility for project performance, customer satisfaction, cost control and overall delivery.
There will also be opportunities to work across technically complex projects involving reciprocating engines, mechanical and electrical systems, civils, energy production and O&M operations.

The Role
Managing projects through the full project lifecycle
Taking responsibility for the successful delivery of individual projects
Managing project P&L and ensuring projects are delivered profitably
Coordinating engineering, construction, installation and commissioning activities
Managing project budgets, costs and commercial performance
Working closely with customers to ensure a high level of service and satisfaction
Managing contractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
Supporting contract and commercial management
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
Monitoring project progress, performance and key deliverables
Managing project risks, issues and changes
Supporting the effective management of project resources
Ensuring compliance with CDM and health & safety requirements
Producing and maintaining project documentation and reports
Supporting supplier meetings and witness testing where required
Travelling throughout the UK and occasionally overseas
Working closely with internal engineering, design, commercial and operational teams

You’ll ideally have:

5+ years’ experience managing energy, power generation or similar engineering projects
Strong technical knowledge of power generation and construction
Experience working with reciprocating engines
Understanding of associated civil, mechanical and electrical systems
Knowledge of energy production and O&M operations
Strong understanding of CDM and health & safety

Experience with contract management
Knowledge of contracts such as NEC, FIDIC, IChemE or MF1
Experience managing project costs, budgets and commercial performance
Competence using Microsoft Project (MPP) and Microsoft Office
HNC/HND or higher qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
A commercially aware and organised approach
Full UK driving licence Package
