Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on engineering support to production teams on the shop floor
- Investigate production and manufacturing issues and develop practical engineering solutions
- Develop, improve and optimise manufacturing processes
- Support improvements to productivity, quality, cycle times, scrap and downtime
- Use CAD to support the design and modification of tooling, fixtures and components
- Work closely with production, tooling, quality and engineering teams
- Support the introduction of new products, tooling and manufacturing methods
- Produce and update manufacturing instructions, SOPs and technical documentation
- Support tooling and process trials
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across production Requirements
- Previous experience within Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Tooling or a similar hands-on engineering role
- Strong practical understanding of manufacturing and production environments
- Comfortable working directly with operators, technicians and production teams on the shop floor
- Good working knowledge of CAD software
- Experience with in machining, precision engineering, automotive, tooling, pressings, forging, aerospace or a similar engineering environment would be advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience of tooling, jigs, fixtures or manufacturing process development would be advantageous
- Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience Benefits
- Up to £46,000 salary depending on experience
- Permanent, full-time position
