Job Description Overview
We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Hydrogeologist to join our team in the UK. Our client and project base are highly diverse with current projects in the nuclear decommissioning, energy transformation, regeneration and redevelopment and major road and rail sectors in the UK and around the world. The Environment Practice is a well-established, award winning, multi-disciplinary, environmental and engineering practice with an extensive portfolio of regeneration and development projects and a highly skilled team; notably with staff winning various awards over the past years.
The vacancy is for someone who is confident working in a team and independently, combines excellent organisational, technical, numerical, digital, and communication skills to demonstrate logical thinking and concise reporting, is highly motivated and proactive, with demonstrable energy, drive and enthusiasm, and has an innovative nature with problem-solving skills.
- Digital and technical input to projects supporting the delivery of contaminated land and hydrogeological projects, including site investigation design and interpretation, development of robust conceptual site models, controlled waters risk assessments, numerical modelling and design reports.
- Organising, supervising and checking site works (including contractors) and the preparation and management of appropriate H&S requirements.
- Production and checking of groundwater models relating to groundwater flow, contamination transport and civil engineering challenges.
- Preparation of relevant Environmental Impact Assessment chapters.
- Support the preparation of proposals and bids for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Maintain excellent professional relationships which will lead to and secure repeat business.
- Developing own competence and maintain CPD necessary to fulfil the responsibilities of the role, with support from the business on own training and development needs.
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering or science subject (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, environmental science).
- MSc or PhD in hydrogeology or related subject is preferable.
- Actively working towards chartership (Chartered Membership of relevant professional body).
- Experienced in designing and managing ground investigations including managing health and safety requirements as well as technical report writing.
- Working knowledge of groundwater modelling packages such as P20, Con Sim, RAM, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, SEEP/W.
- Be a digital innovator: experience of handing large data sets, developing graphic representations of data or finding new digital ways of working.
- Full UK driving licence.
