We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager (Electronics) to lead and develop its hardware engineering function. This is a senior leadership position combining technical oversight, people management and project delivery.

* You will take responsibility for ensuring hardware engineering electronics work is delivered across multiple projects and product ranges to the required standards of safety, quality, cost and timescale.
* You will lead, develop and motivate a team of electronic design engineers, ensuring the department has the capability and resources required to meet both current and future business demands.
* Alongside the people leadership element of the role, you will retain responsibility for technical governance, compliance and the successful delivery of hardware engineering solutions.
* Leading the hardware engineering team, managing resource and workload across multiple projects, overseeing technical and safety compliance, ensuring designs are appropriately verified and validated, supporting continuous improvement of engineering tools and processes, maintaining engineering KPIs and identifying and addressing skills or capability gaps within the team.

* We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in hardware or electronic product design and development.
* You should have previously managed engineering teams and be comfortable taking responsibility for delivery against time, cost, quality and technical requirements.
* You will ideally have a degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or STEM discipline and be able to demonstrate senior-level experience within product development, including product design, development, innovation and design for manufacture.
* Strong leadership, communication, project management and commercial skills are essential. Chartered Engineer status, progress towards Chartership or a project management qualification would be advantageous.
* This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering manager or Senior Electronic Design Engineer looking to take ownership of a key technical function within an established specialist engineering business.
