CAD Technician

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client’s team in Eye, Suffolk. This is an exciting opportunity to work on customer-focused engineering projects, producing accurate designs, drawings, and Bills of Materials that support efficient manufacturing and project delivery. Working closely with the engineering, production, and project teams, you'll play a key role in developing innovative design solutions, enhancing 3D designs and ensuring products are delivered om time.

Ideal for someone with a strong engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration, and making a real impact. Based in Eye, Suffolk Monday to Friday - 9.00am till 5.00pm Permanent Salary dependent on experience Duties Include Produce and review approval, fabrication, and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy and delivery within agreed timescales. Create and check Bills of Materials (BOMs) and parts lists, ensuring they are accurate, up to date, and released efficiently to production.

Work closely with customers, colleagues, and manufacturing teams to ensure clear communication and the smooth flow of information. Support the ongoing development and use of Autodesk Inventor 3D and Vault Professional across the Engineering & Design team. Apply Design for Manufacture principles and value-engineering techniques to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions. Follow engineering best practice to design out hazards and minimise risk wherever reasonably possible.

Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve processes, efficiency, and overall team performance. Actively support Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO 9001 quality initiatives to enhance business performance. Skills and Attributes Proficient in Autodesk Inventor 3D, Solid Works, or similar 3D CAD software, along with AutoCAD. Able to work independently, using initiative to deliver high-quality, accurate work within deadlines. Strong engineering and manufacturing background with sound technical knowledge.

Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs). Familiarity with ERP systems would be advantageous. Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or relevant industry experience. Knowledge of iLogic, Python, or other automation/programming tools would be beneficial.
