Project Manager at Brighter Sound

We’re seeking an organised, proactive and collaborative Project Manager to join our Programmes team.

The role will oversee a varied portfolio of projects across Brighter Sound and Manchester Music City. This includes participatory music projects for young people, emerging and mid-career musicians, alongside sector-facing initiatives that support the development and sustainability of Manchester’s wider music ecosystem.

Working closely with the Head of Programmes and colleagues across Brighter Sound, you will take ownership of projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they meet agreed objectives, timelines, budgets and outcomes. You will work confidently across different audiences, partners and delivery models, while following established systems and processes.

You will build positive relationships with artists, participants, partners, music professionals and freelancers, providing clear direction and ensuring everyone understands their role and responsibilities.

This is a hands-on management role, requiring you to support Project Coordinators, step into practical delivery when needed, make decisions, manage competing priorities and respond constructively when plans change.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, solutions-focused and confident in taking ownership of multiple projects, with a genuine commitment to creating positive experiences, opportunities and connections across the music sector.
