Accounts Assistant – £25,000 – £30,000 DOE – Ancoats

Overview

Due to an increase in workload, our client is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This role will suit someone with experience across both purchase and sales ledgers who is confident using accounting systems and communicating with multiple departments.

The successful Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance function and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing the full purchase ledger, including processing supplier invoices, resolving invoice queries, and raising credit notes

* Supporting the sales ledger, including invoice processing and handling customer queries

* Liaising with suppliers and customers to resolve invoicing discrepancies and incorrect product invoicing

* Handling queries and complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution

* Maintaining accurate financial records using the company’s accounting system (Sage 300)

* Supporting general accounts administration and ad-hoc finance tasks

* Working closely with internal teams, including sales and warehouse staff

* Credit control is managed by another team member, though support may be required at a later stage

Experience with Sage 300 is not essential; however, candidates must have experience using an accounting system and be confident learning new software.

Skills & Experience Required

* Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, or Accounts Assistant role

* Strong understanding of purchase and sales ledger processes

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

* Confident handling queries and complaints in a professional manner

* Proactive, organised, and a strong team player
