Forge Talent are exclusively partnering with a highly ambitious, Manchester‑based technology business at a pivotal point in its growth journey to recruit a Group Financial Controller. Backed by strong fundamentals, a scalable operating model and an increasingly sophisticated leadership team, the business is entering a period of accelerated expansion and transformation.

The Group Financial Controller leads the finance function across financial reporting and operational finance, with overall responsibility for statutory reporting, compliance and the effectiveness of core finance operations. The role ensures accurate, timely consolidated financial statements while building scalable, well‑controlled processes that support growth. Working closely with senior leadership, the role provides technical , commercial insight and drives continuous improvement across systems, processes and controls.

• Own the Group’s annual accounting cycle, including consolidated reporting and year‑end financial statements, covering consolidation, tax, FX, revaluations and intercompany यी activity.
• Lead the external audit process and prepare technical accounting papers for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee tax compliance, payroll sign‑off and provide technical accounting support to senior management and the wider business.
• Lead the month‑end close across operational and reporting ledgers, ensuring accurate balance sheet and P&L reporting in line with accounting standards.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany settlements, cash flow and working capital management.
• Manage relationships with key external partners including banks, auditors and tax advisors.
• Review end‑to‑end finance processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and shorten close cycles.
• Define and monitor KPIs to track the performance of transactional processes and reporting outputs.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations, automation and digitisation.
• Build and lead a scalable, high‑performing finance team across reporting and operations.
• Set clear expectations around quality, timeliness and ownership, fostering a strong delivery culture.
• Develop team capability through coaching, mentoring and structured development.

• ACA/ACCA/C DEN Qualified with 5+ years PQE and experience operating at Group Financial Controller, Head of Reporting or senior finance leadership level.
• Strong IFRS technical expertise with a proven track record delivering complex group reporting and managing audits to deadline.
• Experience in large private organisations with strong controls, demanding reporting timetables and complex tax requirements.
