Workplace: ITV Manchester, Media City + Hybrid – expectation is 2-3 days in the office per week

The team

At ITV, our corporate teams work smart and work fast. We’re one of the most talked-about brands. With a variety of roles across HR, Finance and Legal, you’ll find a position that challenges you, enabling you to have a real impact on your career, on our viewers and our strategic ambitions – and still have a life outside work.

The role

We are recruiting two RTR Data Cleanse Accountants on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support a critical phase of ITV’s RTR Simplification programme. Reporting to the RTR Reconciliations Manager, these roles will play a key part in cleansing RTR data and restructuring balance sheet reconciliations to enable successful implementation of ARCS. Working closely with the RTR BAU team, ARCS implementation team and Finance Continuous Improvement, you will help ensure our balance sheet reconciliations are accurate, compliant and fit for purpose, enabling a more streamlined, efficient RTR process.

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Cleanse RTR data to support strict GL cross-validation rules, identifying inaccuracies and posting correction or reclassification journals
  • Review legal entity vs business area postings, producing impact summaries and resolving data quality issues at source
  • Restate existing Excel balance sheet reconciliations into the new Legal Entity format, ensuring they fully tie to the GL
  • Analyse, re-document and attribute reconciling items to the correct legal entity, reviewing age and materiality
  • Proactively investigate, clear or write off old and immaterial reconciling items in line with policy and approvals
  • Prepare cleaned and restated balance sheet reconciliations for transfer into ARCS, meeting system and data load requirements
  • Collaborate closely with RTR, GFO, ARCS, CI and wider finance teams, communicating progress and impacts clearly
  • Manage workload to deliver against agreed timelines, comply with internal controls and accounting standards, and demonstrate ITV behaviours
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
  • Qualified accountant (ICAEW / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent), or QBE with demonstrable, significant accounting experience in a complex finance environment.
  • Proven experience delivering balance sheet reconciliations and/or data cleansing activities within a high-volume, large chart of accounts environment.
  • Advanced Excel capability, evidenced by regular use of complex spreadsheets for reconciliations, analysis and data restructuring.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced finance role, ideally within a large or multi-entity organisation.
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
  • Strong attention to detail with a genuine enjoyment of problem solving and investigative accounting work
  • Collaborative team player who actively contributes to a positive, no-blame culture
  • Comfortable working at pace, managing competing priorities and maintaining quality under pressure
  • Resilient and adaptable, with the confidence to operate effectively in ambiguity and change
  • Self-motivated and well organised, able to manage own workload with minimal supervision
  • Clear, confident communicator, able to explain issues, progress and outcomes to a range of stakeholders
  • Willing and able to challenge constructively and influence at multiple levels when resolving issues
  • Motivated by continuous improvement and supportive of transformation, process automation and systems change
Desirable experience
  • Hands-on experience of large-scale data cleansing or high-volume reconciliations
  • Exposure to finance transformation programmes and/or Oracle ERP environments

Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
