Position: Temporary Finance Officer (Temporary, Part Time)
Temporary Finance Officer, Manchester City Centre Based.
Part Time – 3 days per week, 9am to 5pm (30 min lunch)
Immediate start, 3–4-month duration.
£16.00 - £18.65 per hour DOE (+ Hol Pay)
A Manchester‑based charity is seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Finance Officer. This part‑time role (three full days per week, office based) is ideal for someone who wants to use their financial skills to support meaningful community impact while developing their experience within the not‑for‑profit sector.
Responsibilities
You will support the Finance Manager with day‑to‑day financial operations, including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing data for formal accounts, managing donations, and contributing to funding bids and reporting. You will also ensure the effective use of accounting software and support the wider team with clear, timely financial information.
Essentials

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within a similar financial role

• AAT Level 3 or above (qualified or working towards)

• Experience in the charity/not‑for‑profit sector

• Experience preparing and recording financial data for formal accounts

• Experience supporting funding bids, reporting to funders, and managing donations

• Confident using commercial accounting software, ideally Quick Books

• Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and financial accounting systems

• Solid financial, numerical, and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain financial information clearly to board level

• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team

• Positive, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting the wider finance function
