New Leaf Search has partnered with a leading provider of technology and financial solutions in its search for a Senior Credit Underwriter.
Location:
UK, NW England / Manchester (Hybrid).
This is a senior credit role supporting a fast-growing asset finance and technology funding portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in underwriting complex credit decisions, strengthening risk governance and supporting commercial growth across the business.
Working closely with Sales, Finance and external stakeholders, you will provide high-quality credit analysis, robust decision-making and leadership within the underwriting function.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite complex credit proposals within delegated authority and provide recommendations outside mandate.
- Assess creditworthiness of customers, suppliers and counter parties across asset finance and technology portfolios.
- Review high-exposure and high-risk accounts, ensuring proactive monitoring and engagement.
- Evaluate extended payment terms and complex commercial structures with thorough due diligence.
- Produce clear, commercially balanced credit recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Support and mentor junior underwriters, providing guidance and quality oversight.
- Contribute to credit policy, governance and continuous improvement of risk processes.
- Communicate credit decisions clearly to commercial teams and senior management.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit underwriting, risk or commercial lending.
- Strong financial analysis capability with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
- Experience underwriting secured and unsecured transactions within asset finance or related sectors.
- Commercial judgement with the confidence to challenge and defend credit decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly Asset Finance and Leasing.
You will also require relevant IN-COUNTRY experience; without which, your application will NOT be considered.
