Purpose of the job:
The Compliance Analyst will provide comprehensive support to the Compliance Manager across all areas of compliance, risk, and regulatory activity. This role is designed to strengthen the compliance function by taking ownership of horizon scanning, CIFAS work, and policy management, while also assisting with anti-money laundering (AML), GDPR, cyber and the firms journey into the use of Artificial Intelligence.

The Work – accountabilities & responsibilities
  • Horizon Scanning:
    Proactively monitor and analyse changes in legislation, regulation, and industry best practice relevant to the business. Prepare regular updates and briefings for the Compliance Manager and senior leadership, highlighting emerging risks and required actions.
  • CIFAS:
    Manage the organisation’s CIFAS membership and compliance, including DAM 1 reporting, policy and procedure development, and the review and investigation of CIFAS alerts and matches. Act as a point of contact for CIFAS-related matters and liaise with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Policy Management:
    Draft, review, and update compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practice. Maintain a schedule for policy reviews and ensure all staff are aware of policy changes. Support the Compliance Manager in embedding policies across the business.
  • General Compliance Support:
    Assist the Compliance Manager with AML and DPO duties, including risk assessments, customer due diligence, complaints, data protection impact assessments, data subject access requests and regulatory reporting. Support cyber security and AI compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Collaborate with colleagues across the business to promote a culture of compliance & integrity. Support training and awareness campaigns and respond to compliance queries.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of compliance frameworks, processes, and controls in response to regulatory feedback and business needs.
The Person – skills & experience

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in a compliance, risk, or regulatory environment
  • Keen attention to detail, including the administration and handling of client data
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulation, and industry guidance, specifically in relation to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)
  • Good working knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations (MLRs) and associated guidance, including risk assessments, customer due diligence, ongoing monitoring, and proliferation financing requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with policy drafting and document management
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Collaborative approach and willingness to support a broad range of compliance activities
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work effectively and operate under pressure to meet agreed service levels while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and engage effectively with the wider business, key stakeholders, and third parties

Desirable

  • Experience working with Annex 1 registered FCA firms
  • Experience in property-backed lending, with a broader asset-based lending background
  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial statements
  • Strong financial and commercial awareness
  • Experience or working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Requirements

You will be required to attend events and travel to other locations and Reward offices – this may include an overnight stay.
