MGA Accountant

Location: North West UK (Hybrid Working)

Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced MGA Financial Accountant to join a leading global specialty insurance business on a fixed-term basis. This role will support the accurate accounting of technical transactions and ensure timely, high-quality financial reporting to both external stakeholders and group entities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in month-end processes, audit preparation, and finance transformation initiatives, contributing to ongoing automation and process improvement projects.

• Manage month-end financial close processes for technical accounts
• Prepare and reconcile technical accounts and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and perform quality assurance on bordereau
• Coordinate and produce quarterly audit files, ensuring timely completion of schedules and supporting documentation
• Collaborate closely with the Accounting and Financial Reporting team
• Identify opportunities to improve, standardise, and automate existing finance processes
• Support finance-wide projects, including new business stream implementations
• Provide ad-hoc support across the finance function as required
• Promote strong governance and conduct standards

• Previous experience in technical accounting and/or credit control
• Strong understanding of financial reporting processes
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Confident communicator, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach
