Interim Financial Controller – 6 Month Contract (on site)

💷 £80,000 – £100,000+ per annum (pro rata)

We are partnering with a well-established business based in South Oxfordshire to appoint an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a 6-month assignment.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a strong technical accountant with proven team management capability and a track record of driving process improvement within a fast‑paced environment.

Reporting to the Group FC, you will take ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while leading and developing the existing finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team to ensure high performance and accountability
• Full ownership of the month‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Review and enhancement of existing month‑end reporting packs
• Driving process improvements across finance operations to increase efficiency and controls
• Ensuring balance sheet integrity, reconciliations and robust financial controls
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Acting as a key finance contact for operational stakeholders

We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with:

• Proven experience operating in a hands‑on leadership role
• Strong team leadership and people management skills
• Demonstrable experience improving finance processes and reporting routines
• The ability to quickly assess, stabilise and enhance month‑end procedures
• A hands‑on, pragmatic approach with excellent communication skills
• Immediate or short notice availability preferred
