We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients
, a growing organisation operating across the UK and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to support the continued expansion of the group by joining the Group Tax Team
.
Reporting directly to the Group Head of Tax
, the Tax Manager will play a key role in leading VAT and indirect tax compliance across the group’s operations. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with tax legislation, minimising tax risk and cost exposure, and providing expert guidance on complex VAT and indirect tax matters.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, supporting worldwide VAT and indirect tax compliance while also providing specialist advice on broader business taxation matters. The role includes developing efficient processes, supporting system improvements, and delivering clear guidance and training to colleagues.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation, management, submission, and payment of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and reports
- Ensure full compliance with relevant tax legislation and statutory deadlines
- Drive continuous improvement of tax-related systems and processes, ensuring tax considerations are embedded in business changes
- Provide expert tax advice and guidance across the organisation, including risk management and cross-border tax matters
- Monitor and manage tax compliance related to overseas operations and online learning activities
- Develop and implement new processes where required to support international tax compliance
- Actively contribute to system development and ongoing improvements to ensure accurate and robust tax accounting records
- Proactively manage the group’s VAT exposure, including the use and review of VAT group structures
- Support the Group Head of Tax in training and developing finance teams to identify when specialist tax advice is required
- Liaise with external advisors, HMRC, and relevant professional bodies
- Support the Group Head of Tax on wider taxation matters impacting the organisation
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as required
- Qualified accountant and/or tax advisor with significant post-qualification experience
- Strong expertise in VAT, corporation tax, and employment taxes
- Proven experience in UK tax compliance and advisory
, ideally within a complex or multi-entity organisation - Demonstrable experience of identifying and implementing system and process improvements
- Proactive, self-motivated individual with strong commercial awareness
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and organisational boundaries
- Excellent communication skills, with a practical, solution-focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous professional development
- Excellent planning, organisational, and workload management skills
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel and experience working with large ERP systems
