Financial Accountant

An established organisation based in Manchester is seeking a Finance Analyst to join its finance team. As a Finance Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function through accurate and timely financial reporting, robust control processes, and effective collaboration across the business. Your responsibilities will span month-end close, VAT, audit support, and statutory reporting, alongside contributing to management accounts and commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

• Owning group month-end processes, including bank reconciliations, fixed asset register reconciliation, accruals and prepayments, debtor and creditor reviews, and external and related-party loan workings
• Managing payroll processes and preparing monthly payroll journals in line with internal policies
• Preparing management accounts and reporting packs for senior leadership, including variance analysis against budget or forecast
• Presenting monthly reporting packs to senior stakeholders, clearly communicating financial insights to support decision‑making
• Supporting the year‑end audit process, including assisting with the Annual Report and liaising with external auditors
• Compiling annual accounts for group entities for submission to Companies House, ensuring statutory compliance
• Preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns and liaising with tax advisers on tax submissions
• Managing weekly consolidated payment runs, including invoice approvals and ad hoc payments
• Supporting accounts payable activities through effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Collaborating with development or project teams by preparing budget versus actual reporting for monthly review meetings

You will bring experience in a Finance Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of month‑end processes within a multi‑entity environment. You are confident working with accounting systems and spreadsheets, communicate clearly with colleagues at all levels, and approach your work with professionalism and reliability.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple entities in a fast‑paced finance function
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
• Experience preparing consolidated management accounts
• Intermediate MS Excel skills, including pivot tables
• Part‑qualified status or active study towards CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
• Real estate sector experience is beneficial but not essential
