The Client

Pearse are excited to have partnered exclusively with one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies, a cleantech business who are transforming the energy market.

Having seen 10x revenue growth over the past 12 months, the business is now driving expansion across the UK and the US following a significant Series B investment involving top-tier investors.

Led by a team of industry experts, who also have a track record of scaling high-growth companies to exit, they’re now looking to scale their finance function with a Head of Financial Control. Headquartered in Manchester, they operate a hybrid work environment.

This is a high-impact, finance position reporting directly to their CFO, where you’ll lead the Group’s financial reporting and control function with a focus on building and embedding robust financial controls, group reporting and business partnering with various teams including the Executive team.

• Own consolidated group reporting under IFRS / UK GAAP
• Develop and embed accounting policies
• Lead statutory, tax (Corp Tax, VAT, R&D) and regulatory compliance
• Maintain audit readiness and manage external auditors and advisors

• Build a fit-for-purpose financial control framework
• Drive automation and efficiency across reporting processes
• Work with Tech teams on ERP optimisation

• Lead and develop a growing Financial Reporting & Control team (current team of
  4)
• Develop a high-performance, data-driven culture focused on accuracy and improvement

• Partner with the CFO on financial strategy and investor reporting
• Support international coordination across UK, EU and US entities

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience in industry
• Excellent group reporting, audit and tax experience
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to present to senior stakeholders
• Incredibly ambitious with a desire to continue learning
• Strong interest in technology startups
• Interest in data, automation and scaling finance systems
