Financial Manager
A Financial Accounting Manager is required to join a large, fast-paced Media & Entertainment business based in Manchester.
This is a senior leadership role within a well-established finance operations function that is evolving organisation is investing heavily in systems, automation and process optimisation, and this position will play a key role in strengthening controls, improving efficiency and leading a high-performing core accounting team.
Reporting into a senior finance leader, you’ll take ownership of core financial reporting processes while driving continuous improvement across the function.
Key responsibilities:- Lead and develop a team responsible for core financial accounting and month-end delivery
- Ensure accurate and timely production of financial statements and supporting reconciliations
- Strengthen governance, controls and documentation across accounting processes
- Drive automation and process standardisation across the wider finance function
- Support ongoing ERP enhancements and system upgrades
- Work closely with audit teams to ensure compliance and robust financial reporting
- Partner with peers across finance operations to resolve issues and improve end-to-end processes
- Create a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
This is a visible leadership position within a large and complex organisation, requiring strong stakeholder engagement and the confidence to operate in a changing environment.
The successful candidate will:- Be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or an experienced QBE with significant leadership experience
- Have strong core financial accounting and month-end expertise
- Bring experience managing teams within a shared service or centralised finance environment
- Have worked in a large, process-driven business undergoing change or transformation
- Be systems-savvy, ideally with exposure to large ERP platforms
- Demonstrate resilience, strong communication skills and the ability to lead through change
Experience in Media, Entertainment, Production or similarly fast-moving sectors would be advantageous, though not essential.
