Position: Financial Planner (Desk Based)

The Role

Deliver excellent financial planning, advice and service to clients via a desk‑based model, servicing existing clients with investable assets up to £250,000. The role is part of a growing team that leads in tech adoption to enhance both planner and client experiences.

Hybrid full‑time permanent role (35 hours per week). Three days a week working from the office, two days from home.

Job Responsibilities
  • Focus on new business development, proactively engaging legacy clients in the ongoing service proposition.
  • Actively review and engage existing clients to deliver a holistic financial planning solution across the full suite of services.
  • Achieve revenue targets set by the business and regional manager.
  • Drive cross‑selling and referrals into other parts of the group.
  • Maintain and nurture existing client relationships, identifying and fulfilling new advice needs where appropriate.
  • Generate new client enquiries and create advice income from these.
  • Undertake sales and marketing activity in line with local, regional or national plans.
  • Provide expert independent advice to designated clients in compliance with relevant regulations and Titan policies and values.
  • Maintain ‘Fit and Proper’ status through continuous professional development and SPS maintenance.
  • Ensure client advice and reports are compliant with company processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Use standard template documentation approved by the company.
  • Maintain technical knowledge and general industry knowledge.
  • Deliver a positive client service experience, ensuring appropriate outcomes, journey and communication.
  • Respond within the turnaround times set out in procedures and keep clients appropriately appraised.
  • Ensure processes are executed in compliance with all regulations, evidenced by file checks, observations and client feedback.
  • Establish relationships with other business groups to achieve reciprocal business.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with external professionals, securing appropriate agreements to develop additional opportunities.
  • Use objectives to focus on key business areas.
  • Highlight training needs to ensure a consistent level of service is offered.
  • Keep reading and product knowledge up to date to maintain and develop the quality of reports and research.
  • Perform ad‑hoc tasks as required, keeping TCF and the needs of the business in mind.
  • Highlight to line manager procedures or processes that do not adhere to TCF/RCR principles and suggest improvements.
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably required.
  • Adhere to the consumer duty.
Role Requirements
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and databases.
  • Cash flow modelling experience (preferable).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Technical competence across all areas of financial planning.
  • Good decision‑making skills.
  • Analytical mind and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to coach and provide feedback.
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations.
  • Essential – Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
  • Desirable – Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, Chartered Financial Planner or willingness to progress to this.
  • SPS holder.
  • CAS holder.
