Your Role

Responsible for planning, performing and reporting on a range of audits and other assurance activities, the role of Principal Auditor makes a key contribution to the delivery of the internal audit plan and provision of assurance to the management and members of the Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain a clear understanding of the business areas being audited and their link to TfGM’s Strategic Objectives, the systems and process used and the regulatory environment to ensure that key strategic and operational risks are understood and that controls are in place to operate effectively to manage risks;
  • Deliver the planning and fieldwork phases of audit engagements;
  • Clearly document the results of audit and other assurance work performed and draft a variety of audit reports for review by the Audit Manager;
  • Agree actions with management to address any audit findings;
  • Monitor progress against the completion of audit actions

Please note, this role is a Hybrid role, working in our office in central Manchester two days per week.

Who are we?

As part of the wider Audit, Risk and Assurance team, Internal Audit delivers a risk-based internal audit plan and reports to the TfGM Board and Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee. Internal Audit is really well regarded within TfGM and is very much seen as a value-adding service, providing independent, objective and professional assurance and advice to management and to the Board.

A rare opportunity has now arisen to join our high performing team. The Principal Auditor role will provide an excellent opportunity for applying and enhancing your existing internal audit knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing environment whilst making a significant contribution to delivering improvements across TfGM’s business in support of the development of the emerging Bee Network.

To be successful in this role you have extensive experience in delivering internal audit services in a complex environment. You will have a track record of delivering within deadlines and possess excellent oral and written communication skills to deliver the results of your work clearly and succinctly.

You will also have a substantial understanding of internal audit principles, practices and standards and be proactive in keeping up to date with emerging changes.

This is a permanent salary, with a salary of £50,532- £56,195.
