Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager within the Risk Advisory Services (RAS) team, you will deliver high‑quality internal audit and advisory engagements for a variety of clients. You will lead defined engagements or work streams, support engagement planning and delivery, and ensure work is completed to a high standard in line with BDO methodology.

Responsibilities
  • Lead defined engagements or work streams and deliver audit or advisory engagements.
  • Support engagement planning, portfolio oversight, and project management.
  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard in line with BDO methodology.
  • Build trusted client relationships and communicate findings with managers, senior managers, directors, and partners.
  • Support the development of junior team members.
  • Manage multiple assignments and contribute to the delivery of a small portfolio of client engagements.
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in internal audit or equivalent risk and assurance work, with involvement in planning, delivering and reviewing audit or advisory engagements.
  • An inquisitive and proactive mindset, confident in constructive challenge, critical thinking about risks and controls, and idea generation.
  • Experience in risk management, internal audit or systems / controls testing, with the ability to apply this knowledge pragmatically across different client environments.
  • A recognised professional qualification, or working towards one (e.g. CIA / CMIIA / MIIA, CCAB or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident in engaging clients and stakeholders.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills, able to manage multiple assignments under manager oversight.
  • A collaborative and development‑focused approach, interested in supporting and coaching junior members, willingness to travel to client sites, and interest in data analytics or emerging AI‑enabled audit techniques.
