Salary: £45,000‑£65,000 (DOE) plus benefits and clear progression path.
Location:
Manchester / Hybrid.

Our client is a highly respected national advisory practice with a standout employment tax offering across the North. Following significant growth and consistent new wins in the advisory and transactions space, they are now looking to expand their Employment Tax team with ambitious Consultants and Senior Consultants.
Led by ex‑Big 4 specialists with a genuinely collaborative leadership style, this is a chance to join a well‑established, growing department where you’ll have real autonomy and fast development.
Role OverviewAs an Employment Tax Consultant / Senior Consultant, you will work closely with senior leadership and a high‑performing advisory team, delivering complex employment tax advice to clients ranging from fast‑growing mid‑market businesses to large multinationals.
You will support and lead on advisory projects, HMRC interactions, due diligence work, remuneration reviews, and technical research, with opportunities to take ownership of relationships and support business development as you progress.
Key Responsibilities- Assisting clients in understanding complex tax legislation and HMRC interpretations.
- Supporting employment tax aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligences.
- Researching case law and preparing technical analyses.
- Advising on employee remuneration: salary, equity, benefits, expenses.
- Managing HMRC liaison and dispute work.
- Drafting client advice, reports, and HMRC correspondence.
- Participating in client meetings and leading where appropriate.
- Supporting junior team members and contributing to an inclusive team culture.
- ATT qualified, and either ACA/CTA part‑qualified or qualified (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of employment tax legislation and its application.
- Excellent communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage workload under pressure.
- Experience engaging directly with clients and contributing to business development.
- A team‑first mindset with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
