The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially minded individual to join our successful company to develop and lead a Restructuring & Insolvency team. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced insolvency professional who combines strong technical expertise with a proven ability to develop client relationships, generate new business, and lead complex corporate and personal insolvency engagements.

The successful candidate will enjoy driving the growth of this new service line, managing a diverse portfolio of appointments, and providing strategic advice to businesses, lenders, investors, directors, and individuals facing financial distress.

The technical suite of systems is in place to support from day 1. Access to key clients with potential appointments will be available however, applicants with existing clients and networks are preferred.

Key Responsibilities Case Management & Technical Delivery
  • Manage a portfolio of complex corporate and personal insolvency assignments from appointment through to closure.
  • Lead advisory and formal insolvency engagements, including administrations, liquidations, company voluntary arrangements, bankruptcies, and individual voluntary arrangements.
  • Provide strategic restructuring advice to directors, stakeholders, creditors, and lenders.
  • Ensure all cases are administered efficiently, profitably, and in compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards.
  • Review reports, statutory documentation, and key case deliverables.
  • Manage risk and ensure adherence to professional and ethical standards.
Business Development & Relationship Management
  • Develop and execute business development initiatives to generate new restructuring and insolvency opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong referral networks with accountants, solicitors, lenders, funders, asset-based lenders, and other professional introducers.
  • Identify and convert new client opportunities across both corporate and personal insolvency markets.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, industry forums, and client meetings.
  • Contribute to the firm's market profile through thought leadership, presentations, and technical publications.
Appointment Taking & Licence Holder Responsibilities
  • Act as officeholder on corporate and personal insolvency appointments.
  • Maintain a current insolvency licence and ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations.
  • Accept appointments as Insolvency Practitioner across a broad range of formal insolvency procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues on complex insolvency matters.
  • Liaise with regulators, creditors, legal advisers, and other stakeholders as required.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Support recruitment and training as the team grows.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on technical excellence, client service, and commercial growth.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and operational development of the business.
Candidate Requirements
  • Licensed Insolvency Practitioner with authority to take both corporate and personal insolvency appointments.
  • Significant experience operating at Senior Manager, Associate Director, Director, or equivalent level within a restructuring and insolvency practice.
  • Demonstrable track record of business development and revenue generation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK insolvency legislation, restructuring solutions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing complex corporate and personal insolvency cases.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercially aware with strong leadership capabilities.
