Middle Office Operations Analyst - Manchester
Atrium EMEA is looking for an accomplished Middle Office Operations Analyst to join the Middle Office team and support a large platform transformation project. You will regularly interact with clients to provide consultation and resolve complex inquiries and transactions. The role requires 4 days onsite work in Manchester and 1 day remote, with PAYE/Umbrella options/Inside IR35.
Responsibilities- Managing multiple custodian bank reconciliations for cash and stock across various accounting platforms.
- Providing daily and monthly reporting including positions, cash forecasting, month‑end client reports, and ad hoc requests.
- Collaborating closely with global stakeholders including external custodians, brokers, and internal utilities (derivatives, corporate actions, recon support, pricing, transfer agency, fund accounting, and market FX).
- Conducting research to gather information on the most complex, multi‑faced transactions and providing answers to complex inquiries escalated by lower levels.
- Responsible for or facilitating the maintenance of trade static data, trade enrichment, and trade exception handling and market claims.
- Handling the most complex reconciliations analysis (cash, asset, trade matching, and market value), break assignment, resolution of reconciliation breaks, and trade fails.
- Managing monthly end‑client statement workflow, ad hoc reporting, and incident management.
- Identifying, resolving, and escalating any issues that affect the accuracy of the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) within the team.
- Using own judgement and collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to resolve reconciliations of accounts for complex or atypical transactions.
- Regularly interacting with clients in answering questions and resolving multifaceted inquiries for complex transactions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Client services/client engagement.
- IBOR knowledge.
- Experience liaising with clients regarding the book of record.
- Reconciliation between custodians and fund accounting team.
- Resolving Middle Office exceptions and client queries.
- Demonstrable product knowledge (Funds, Derivatives, Equities, and Fixed Income) helpful.
- Demonstrable systems knowledge (TLM, Eagle) preferred.
- Knowledge of digital tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, UI Path helpful.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry.
