We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, driving process improvements, and supporting operational decision-making across the business.

This is a varied role that combines traditional management accounting responsibilities with business partnering and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing the delivery of month-end reporting with the ability to analyse financial performance and provide meaningful insight to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts & Month-End Reporting
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Post journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and payroll.
  • Produce monthly profit and loss reports and supporting schedules.
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and forecast.
  • Assist with year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting.
Financial Analysis & Business Partnering
  • Provide financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Work closely with department managers to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Investigate revenue, margin and cost trends, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Develop meaningful KPI reporting for senior management.
Process Improvement & Controls
  • Review existing finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and automation.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and reporting tools.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and compliance with company policies.
  • Contribute to the development of reporting packs and management information.
Skills & Experience:
  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or equivalent role.
  • Month-end accounting experience.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
