NC Associates are working in partnership with a growing and forward-thinking business based in Manchester City Centre to recruit a Management Accountant
. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, finalist, or newly qualified accountant looking to join a collaborative finance team where they can play a key role in supporting the financial performance of the business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate monthly management accounts, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders. This role offers excellent exposure across the wider business and genuine opportunities for career progression.
Management Accountant Responsibilities:Preparation of monthly management accounts with supporting commentary
Producing monthly profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports
Posting journals including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
Assisting with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
Business partnering with operational managers to support decision making
Producing financial analysis, KPI reporting and performance reporting
Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Supporting the year-end audit and statutory accounts process
Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
Supporting ad-hoc finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
To be successful in your application, you must have the following:
Previous experience within a Management Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant position
ACCA / CIMA Part Qualified, Finalist or Newly Qualified
Experience preparing monthly management accounts
Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and XLOOKUPs
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with stakeholders across the business
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
Positive attitude with a proactive and hands-on approach
Desirable:
Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or Net Suite
Previous experience within a fast-paced commercial environment
Experience producing budgets and forecasts
Power BI experience would be advantageous
