Are you a qualified accountant looking to play a pivotal role in a large-scale business transformation programme?
A leading UK grocery retailer is seeking a Project Accountant to join its Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team on a 12-month fixed-term contract
. This is a unique opportunity to support the next phase of a major SAP transformation programme, working at the heart of a business undergoing significant change.
As Project Accountant
, you will provide financial leadership across strategic transformation programmes, ensuring investment decisions are robust, project spend is effectively managed and expected business benefits are realised.
Working closely with programme leaders and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting the ongoing development and optimisation of the SAP platform while contributing to wider business transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead financial management across major transformation programmes
- Manage budgets, forecasts and project expenditure
- Monitor business case performance and track benefits realisation
- Provide commercial insight and financial challenge to programme teams
- Support investment decision-making through robust financial analysis
- Produce and present financial reporting to governance forums and senior stakeholders
- Manage project cost centres and monitor performance against targets
- Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with internal processes
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant
- Strong experience in project accounting, programme finance or finance business partnering
- Proven track record managing budgets, forecasts and costs within large-scale projects
- Experience assessing business case performance and benefits delivery
- Strong financial reporting and governance experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence at senior level
- Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Competitive salary of up to £70,000
