Assistant Accountant

Manchester Area Salary: £30,000 - £40,000, plus additional benefits Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role Robert Half are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join the finance team of a growing and creative media company based in the Manchester area. This is a varied and hands-on opportunity suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple areas of finance and is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will support the day-to-day finance function, assisting with month-end processes, financial reporting and transactional accounting while gaining exposure across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and month-end close Post journals, accruals and prepayments, and complete balance sheet reconciliations Maintain the purchase and sales ledgers, including supplier and customer reconciliations Process payment runs and monitor cash flow Assist with credit control and resolve invoice queries Support payroll preparation by liaising with the outsourced payroll provider Assist with VAT returns and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date Support budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis Work closely with senior finance colleagues to support reporting, financial controls and process improvements About You Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role Studying towards ACCA/CIMA Good understanding of month-end accounting processes and double-entry bookkeeping Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Proactive, reliable and able to manage changing priorities within a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business What's on Offer Competitive basic salary of £30,000 - £40,000, depending on experience Opportunity to develop within a growing and innovative media business Exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities beyond transactional accounting Study support available Supportive finance team with genuine career progression opportunities Competitive benefits package Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
