The postholder will provide regular review and analysis of revenue performance, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

Operational
- Key Tasks
  • Own financial analysis of supplier-level revenue, gross margin, commissions, rebates and other commissionable income; identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations, Account Management and Billing to validate that contracted revenue is accurately captured, invoiced and collected in line with commercial agreements.
  • Produce timely revenue, gross-margin and supplier-performance reporting, with clear commentary on drivers, variances and recommended actions.
  • Lead periodic revenue and gross-margin forecasting, using actual performance and documented assumptions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Analyse product, supplier and customer profitability, including commission and rebate performance, pricing and commercial terms where relevant.
  • Improve the end-to-end commission and rebate process with the Financial Transactions team, strengthening controls, data quality, transparency and operational efficiency.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into practical insight for non-finance stakeholders and support commercial decision-making.
  • Build effective working relationships across Finance, Operations, Account Management, Billing and external suppliers or partners.
  • Support the annual audit by preparing robust analysis, reconciliations and supporting documentation for revenue, commissions and related balances.
  • Support the Finance Director on ad-hoc commercial-finance projects and lead defined improvement projects independently.
Skills and Experience
  • Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Experience in commercial finance, finance business partnering, FP&A or a comparable revenue and margin-focused role.
  • Strong understanding of revenue, gross margin, commissions, rebates, supplier or customer profitability, and financial forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including robust financial modelling and analysis.
  • Proven ability to turn complex data into clear insight and practical recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with confidence partnering non-finance teams and challenging constructively.
  • Highly inquisitive and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and sound commercial judgement.
  • Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and control.
  • Experience improving finance processes, reporting or data quality across multiple operational teams.
  • Exposure to pricing, commercial terms, trade spend, billing or revenue-recognition processes.
  • Experience with business-intelligence tools or ERP/reporting-system improvement.
