Senior Construction Finance Manager About the Role
We are seekingan experienced and commercially focused
Senior Construction Finance Manager
to join our growing team. Thisis a keyleadership position responsible for providing financialoversight across multiple construction projects, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategiccommercial support.
Working closely with senior management, projectdirectors, and operationalteams, you willplay a pivotal role in drivingfinancial performance,managing risk, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all financial aspects of construction projects from tenderthrough to completion.
- Prepare, monitor, andmanage project budgets, forecasts, cost to complete, retentions and cash flow.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting and performance analysis.
- Partner with projectmanagers to improveprofitability and cost control.
- Oversee contract valuations, cost reporting, and financial risk management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and developfinance team members.
- Direct the day-to-day finance function for regional projects, overseeing the production of monthly management accounts, bank reconciliations, and P&L variances
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
- Sole responsibility overseeing and submitting monthly Construction Industry Scheme CIS) returns and domestic reverse charge vat.
The successful candidate will possess the following expertise:
- A professional accountingqualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Extensive experience will be considered.
- Significant senior-levelfinance experience withinthe construction or infrastructure sector.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
- Excellent financial modelling, budgeting, and forecastingskills.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts,cost control, and project accounting.
- Exceptional analytical,communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Exceland accounting systems.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of finance experience preferably within construction, and have strong working knowledge of CIS and VAT
- Extensive hands-on experience using Sage 50, Microsoft Excel, Word etc
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Self-motivated and able to manage workloads independently
Location: Ardwick, Manchester
