Financial Controller – Maternity Cover Equifind is partnering with an leading international retail business, looking for a Financial Controller to own month-end close and management accounts, giving leadership the financial visibility they need to make fast, informed decisions. Reporting into the Head of Finance the role will involve:
Own the full month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple entities/currencies Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis Deliver variance analysis against budget/forecast, with clear commentary on drivers and trends Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure robust supporting schedules Identify and lead improvements to finance systems and processes, reducing manual work and improving reporting speed and accuracy Drive automation of month-end tasks and reporting where possible, working with IT/systems teams as needed Document and standardize processes and controls across entities/markets Partner with commercial and operations teams to explain performance and flag risks/opportunities Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit as needed Manage and develop a small finance team responsible for transactional and management accounting Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience running month-end close and producing management accounts, ideally in retail or a multi-site, multi-currency business Experience is managing a large team Track record of driving process or systems improvements within a finance function Strong Excel skills and hands-on ERP experience High attention to detail with the ability to work to tight monthly deadlines Clear communicator, comfortable presenting numbers to non-finance stakeholders This is an excellent opportunity so if you’re interested please apply asap.
