Role Description The Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. The Finance Manager will prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, support annual audits, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves partnering with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and monitoring inventory, cost of goods, and margin performance.
The Finance Manager will also drive process improvements, strengthen internal controls, manage relationships with external advisors and banking partners, and support senior leadership with financial planning and performance reviews.
Qualifications
- Solid experience in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong skills in financial reporting, management accounts preparation, and month-end closing processes.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and audit coordination, preferably within retail, apparel, or consumer goods.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with business intelligence tools is beneficial.
- Ability to interpret financial data, develop insights, and communicate clearly with non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in cash flow management, working capital optimization, and cost control.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative working style, with the ability to support cross-functional teams and build constructive relationships.
- Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in a branded or global business environment and an interest in sailing, sports, or outdoor apparel is an advantage.
