Role: Accounts Assistant
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: Up to £32,000
About the OpportunityMorson Edge Finance is partnering with an established international organisation to recruit an Accounts Assistant into its European finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing accounts experience who is looking to broaden their exposure and develop within a supportive finance environment. The position has become available due to an internal promotion and offers genuine scope for progression, with existing members of the team having successfully developed into more senior finance positions.
The role will support the finance function across a number of European entities incorporating balance sheet reconciliations, journals, P&L analysis and intercompany activity alongside transactional responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Processing supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and approval
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Processing employee expenses
- Posting journals
- Supporting P&L analysis
- Preparing intercompany statements
- Supporting month-end activities and financial reporting
- Working with colleagues across Finance, Procurement and Operations
- Supporting wider finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensuring adherence to financial controls and audit requirements.
We are looking for someone who has previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role and is now keen to continue developing their accounting experience.
- Previous accounts/finance administration experience
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Experience of invoice processing and payment cycles
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Experience of using an accounting or ERP system
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- A stable career history
- Ideally you will be studying towards your AAT qualification.
