Assistant Financial Controller

Assistant Financial Controller (Temporary 3-Month Contract) Stockport | Hybrid Working (2-3 days office / 2 days home) £23-27 per hour Immediate Start Available A well-established property business based in Stockport is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join the team on an initial 3 month temporary contract . Working closely with senior finance leadership, you'll play a key role in supporting month-end processes, overseeing the purchase and sales ledgers, and assisting with the day-to-day management of a small finance team.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting and driving month-end close activities Overseeing purchase, sales and general ledger functions Assisting with financial reporting and reconciliations Supporting cashflow management and balance sheet reviews Supervising and mentoring a small finance team Identifying process improvements and ensuring financial controls are maintained

About you:

Previous experience in a similar Assistant Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant role in the UK Strong month-end and ledger management experience Confident supervising or managing junior finance staff Strong communication skills Able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment Available to start immediately Must have full right to work in the UK as no sponsorship is available This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly and growing property business, offering flexible hybrid working and a competitive hourly rate.
