I'm recruiting on behalf of a well established UK accountancy and business advisory firm that wants to add a Senior Manager to its Manchester Business Restructuring team. The work is advisory led, with Independent Business Reviews at the heart of it, so it will suit someone who already does this kind of work and would like it to be their main focus rather than something shared with formal insolvency.
The team advises companies, lenders, investors and other stakeholders when a business is under financial pressure. You'll be working on things like:
- Independent Business Reviews
- Refinancing and turnaround advisory
- Short term cash flow and options reviews
- Special Situations M&A
You'll be working closely with senior colleagues and take day to day responsibility for a range of assignments, leading work streams on the larger and more complex jobs. You'll look after client and stakeholder relationships, manage and develop junior team members, and own planning, financials, quality and delivery. You'll also write the first drafts of IBRs and other reports, and part of the job is questioning the numbers you're given rather than taking them at face value.
Business development is part of the role too, so there'll be proposals, pitches and building your own network in the market.
It's a collaborative team with a good mix of work, and people get the chance to lead early. The firm backs career development with proper mentoring and coaching, and works flexibly, with teams meeting in the office when it matters. Salary and benefits are competitive [to be added].
This role is only open to people with hands on advisory experience, and a background purely in insolvency appointments won't be enough.
What you'll need:
- Restructuring advisory experience, including IBRs, from a professional services firm or restructuring boutique
- ICAEW or ACCA qualified, with the post qualified experience to match
- Strong financial analysis and Excel skills, and confidence picking apart a financial model
- Clear, well written reports and presentations
- Good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint, and up to date knowledge of the regulatory and statutory requirements
- A self starter who is organised and works well in a team
