Hays are recruiting for an established organisation who is looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join its fast-paced Finance team. You will take ownership of the end-to-end cash collection process across a portfolio of business customers, helping to maximise collections within agreed payment terms, reduce aged debt and maintain strong debtor performance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised Credit Controller who can build positive customer relationships while taking a proactive approach to debt recovery and account management. This is a permanent office-based role based in Oldham - North Manchester.
Your new role

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively contact customers by telephone and email to secure outstanding payments
• Meet monthly and quarterly cash collection targets
• Reduce debt aged over 30 days
• Reconcile customer accounts accurately and maintain clean ledgers
• Investigate and resolve unallocated cash, journals, write-offs and duplicate accounts
• Maintain detailed and accurate collection notes on the internal finance system
• Build effective working relationships with customers and internal colleagues
• Identify accounts requiring escalation and recommend legal action where appropriate
